Commander (CC)
The Encampment Commander is responsible for the overall administration, operation and training program of the Encampment. In addition, responsibility of all CAP personnel attending the Encampment and their compliance with both CAP directives and instructions issued by the installation fall under the Encampment Commander's command.
Deputy Commander (CD)
The Deputy Commander assists the Encampment Command in accomplishing his job function. The Deputy Commander works in tandem with the Commander to ensure a successful Encampment.
Executive Officer (XO)
The Executive Officer assists the Commander in the administration of the Encampment. All Support Staff functions such as public affairs, medical, logistics, etc report to the XO. The XO is primary CAP contact for the installation and serves as the primary supervisor of the headquarters staff.
Cadet Commander (C/CC)
The Cadet Commander provides focus and direction to the cadet staff of the Encampment. She selects qualified and experiences cadets as staff. She provides appropriate feedback and criticism of the overall program, and fosters cohesiveness among the cadet corps. The Cadet Commander serves as the strongest cadet role model for the doolies.
Cadet Deputy Commander (C/CD)
The C/CD is primarily responsible for supervising and directing the cadet command staff at the Encampment. He/she works together with the Training OIC to provide standardized training lessons to the Squadron Commanders. He/she ensures adherence to the training schedule and accomplishes other duties as assigned by the C/CC.
Cadet Executive Officer (C/XO)
The C/XO is primarily responsible for coordinating, controlling and directing the cadet support staff at the Encampment. He/she ensures quality training of all cadet support staff members at Encampment, supervises performance of support staff Cadet OICs and accomplishes other duties as assigned by the C/CC.
Squadron Commander
Squadron Commanders are responsible for the coordination, control and direction of their subordinate units, the cadet Flights. He/she evaluates the effectiveness of the training within their Squadron and provides guidance to the Flight Commanders reporting to him/her. He/she coordinates logistical and administrative support for the Squadron.
Flight Commander
Flight Commanders are primarily responsible for the direction and implementation of the Encampment program to the basic cadets within their flights. The Flight Commander reports directly to his/her Squadron Commander. Flight Commanders foster teamwork and unity of purpose within their unit, ensure proper training and safety of the members of their flight, and ensure adherence to all required customs and courtesies by the basic cadets and the flight staff under his/her direction.
Squadron First Sergeant
A First Sergeant is responsible for ensuring that the NCOs within their Squadron are familiar with their duties and responsibilities. The First Sergeant reports directly to the Squadron Commander. He/she must maintain and reinforce the ideals and performances of the NCO. They ensure successful implementation of the physical training program, provide feedback to the Squadron Commander regarding the NCOs in their unit, and relieve the Squadron Commander of any routine tasks as required by the Squadron Commander.
Flight Sergeant
The Flight Sergeant is directly responsible for the personal implementation of the Encampment training program. The Flight Sergeant reports directly to the Flight Commander and also receives advice, instruction and feedback from their Squadron's First Sergeant. He/she implements flight-level academic, PT and training programs; instructs and reinforces customs and courtesies and satisfies daily training objectives established by the Flight Commander.
Safety Officer
The Safety Officer follow CAP-established safety regulations, ensuring a safe and hazard-free experience for all CAP members in attendance. The Safety Officer reports directly to the Encampment Commander.
Chief Tactical Officer (CTO)
The Chief Tactical Officer (“TACO Supreme”) supervises the Tactical Officers assigned to each Flight. The CTO holds morning and evening briefings with the TACO staff to provide guidance and receive feedback from his/her staff. The CTO ensures Tactical Officers have the resources they need to meet their obligation to his/her Flight.
Tactical Officer (TACO)
The Tactical Officer is arguably one of the most important Senior Staff positions at an Encampment. TACOs are assigned to each Flight and report to, and receive guidance from, the Chief Tactical Officer. A TACO goes everywhere his/her flight goes, serving as a safety monitor and a mentor to the Flight staff.
Chaplain
Being an Encampment Chaplain is a very rewarding experience. It is common for cadets, especially those who have never been away from home before, to become homesick. The Chaplain can make all the difference in the world. An Encampment Chaplain ensures the spiritual well-being of all members at the Encampment and advises the Commander on the overall morale of attendees.
Standards and Evaluation Staff (Stan/Eval)
The Stan/Eval staff provides Command-level inspection of the Encampment cadet members. They conduct uniform inspections, provide guidance to Flight staff and accomplish other duties as assigned by the C/XO. The Stan/Eval OIC supervises the Stan/Eval cadet staff.
Public Affairs Staff (PAO)
The Public Affiars Staff serves as the Encampment's media network. They capture the experience in film and video, publish newsletters and submit press releases to publicize the Encampment experience. The PAOIC supervises the PAO cadet staff. The senior Public Affairs Officer (PAO) provides leadership and guidance to the PAOIC and his/her staff.
Communications Staff (Comms)
The Communications Staff is "the voice of Encampment command." The Comms staff ensures sufficient and effective communication systems are in place to support the mission of the Encampment. The Senior Communications Officer provides leadership and guidance to the Comms staff.
Dining Hall Staff
The Dining Hall Staff is in charge of feeding the 200 members in attendance at Encampment. Meals are prepared by Camp Blanding chow hall personnel and are picked up and served by Encampment Dining Hall Staff. The Dining Hall OIC/NCOIC directs the actions of the Cadet Dining Hall Staff. The Senior Dining Hall Officer oversees mess operations.
Logistics Officer
The Logistics Officer directs and supervises COV operations, facility management and other supply and transportation issues at the direction of the Encampment Executive Officer.
