Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

As questions regarding encampment are received, they will be posted here along with their answer. Please use this page as a check before sending an e-mail to the encampment staff to help reduce everyones' workload. The newest questions will be posted to the bottom

1. If bringing staff cadets and basic cadets, will basic cadets be able to arrive early and have lodging, food, etc, covered and if so, will it cost extra? Accomodations for early arrival may be accomodated, however, require prior coordination and approval from the encampment commander.

2. I'm a senior member, do I still need to complete the FLWGF500 and FLWGF504? Yes. These forms are used for ALL enampment participants to ensure accurate medical and emergency contact information is maintained for everyone.

3. Because of the new encampment location, will the arrival and departure times for participants be changed to accomodate the increased drive time? Yes. Times will be adjusted to help accomodate those with long drive times. The encampment website will reflect the most current information.

4. Can more than the minimums listed on the equipment list be brought? Because of limited space at encampment, the equipment list should be followed exactly. Areas where additional items may be brought will have this "remarked" in the description (i.e. 1 BDU shirt required, 2-3 recommended).

5. What measures will be taken to ensure the daily monitoring of cadets at encampment as well as the prompt removal from training for any trainee or cadre who is "coming down" with something? The encampment medical officer will be working with the wing medical officer to ensure that every reasonable preventative step is taken during encampment to prevent the development and spread of sickness. All personnel will be briefed at encampment and the health standards necessary will be enforced. There are two documents available thus far regarding swine flu; the first is a memo from the FLWG/SO and the second a talking points memo from the USAF .
